All cheerleaders will need to be fitted for a new uniform and must attend a fitting day.
In-store fittings have been cancelled due to covid restrictions and will be held at the park at a later date.

All participants must complete the online registration process. We will be happy to assist you with the process on one of the dates listed above. No appointment is required.
Cheerleading uniform items are sold by MJYFC during sign up events. You can purchase the additional items at most retail stores. Academy Sports & Dicks Sporting Goods in Mt. Juliet are amazing sponsors of our program. Both stores will have discounts during our uniform & equipment fitting days.
The first day of cheer practice will be July 22nd from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. During the first week practice will be held on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. This will be a camp type atmosphere lead by MJYFC coaches.
Each camp day will have a theme as follows:
July 22nd – Tie Dye Day
July 23rd – Camo & Animal Print
July 24th – Black & Gold Day
Sideline squad practice will begin on Tuesday, August 11th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. During this week of practice, the cheerleaders will focus on learning our core cheers. Sideline practice will be held every Tuesday and Thursday through August 27th.
Beginning the week of August 31st sideline squad practice will be held every Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm for the remainder of the season. Your cheer coach will inform you of any practice schedule changes.
Competition squad practice will begin on Monday, August 31st and will be held every Monday and Tuesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm for the remainder of the football season..
There will be an additional registration fee required to participate in our competition season and an additional code of conduct form will need to be signed. You can register for competition squad at the same time you register for a sideline squad. All cheerleaders will have the opportunity to participate in cheer competition. Cheerleaders will compete against other TNYFL and Middle TN cheer squads.
As of June1st there are two competition events scheduled and there may be opportunities to compete in more. Due to COVID-19 restrictions several programs have not finalized their events yet. If more opportunities come available there could be additional entry fees required. More details will be shared as it becomes available to us.
All cheerleaders must compete in their own age divisions regardless of their regular season sideline squad they are assigned to (some cheerleaders are out of age brackets so they can cheer for their sibling’s football team).
Competition practice will begin August 31st and will be held every Monday and Tuesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Sideline practice will be held every Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Cheer competition is a TEAM SPORT! Absences make planning difficult for coaches and your squad. Be at practice on time! Competition squad requires additional practice & dedication outside of normal days. Special commitments must be brought to the attention of your head coach. Everyone understands situations do arise that will cause your child to miss practice but please be sure to inform your head coach if you will not be able to attend. There will be a maximum of 4 allowed absences before potential removal from the competition squad.
Cheer Dress Code
*Cheerleaders must wear comfortable, but not baggy, clothing for practice.
*They should be able to tuck in their shirt so it does not rise while doing tumbles & jumps.
*No undergarments should be visible.
*No shirts showing midriff.
*No short shorts.
*Hair should be pulled back and out of your cheerleader's face. This is for their safety.
*No flip flops.
*Proper footwear is required for safety; we recommend athletic shoes with a good grip bottom not fashion wear or converse style shoes.
*Uniforms must be worn at all games and other official TNYFL events.
*Cheerleaders should come to every game in FULL UNIFORM.
*If the cheerleader does not come in full uniform, they will not be able to take the field. This includes hair pulled up and out of the face, uniform, shoes, bow, etc.
*Once your cheerleader is dropped off with their coach, please do not come get the child or remove the child from the field without the knowledge of the cheer coach. Cheer coaches need to know where every child on the squad is at all times.
For all Participants

All participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from practices and games. Inform your coach of any transportation problems. If a parent or guardian will not be staying with your child at a practice or game please inform the coach and make sure they have a way to contact you in case of an emergency. PARENTS MUST PICK UP THEIR CHILDREN PROMPTLY AT THE END OF PRACTICES OR GAMES!!
A regular season game schedule will be provided as soon as it is available to us from TNYFL (the league that we play within). This is normally after the Jamboree game which is held in mid-August. With the 2020 schedule changes it could be mid September before a full schedule is released. Please be patient, this allows time for all communities in the program to place their teams.
Please be aware that dates are always subject to change during the season. There is usually a game every Saturday with 4 games played at our home site & 4 being played away. Home games are played at Mundy Memorial Park. We ask that out Cheerleaders attend all games and travel with their teams.
Playoffs begin at the end of the regular season. Please inform your coach if you will not be able to attend a game.
We play communities outside of Wilson County so please make note that you will have practices and games during Wilson County Schools October fall intersession/break.
